On behalf of our students, staff and governors, I am pleased to welcome you to William Edwards School.  It is a privilege to lead a school with a strong identity, a proud history and a valued place at the heart of the Thurrock community.

As Headteacher, my responsibility is to build on these strengths with clarity, ambition and consistency, so that every child can thrive.

I have worked in education for over twenty years, serving in senior leadership roles with a wide range of responsibilities and these experiences underpin my belief that outstanding education is about more than examination results.  It is about developing confident, resilient and well‑rounded young people who are prepared for the opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead.  I am an advocate for the high‑quality extracurricular provision that supports this educational goal.

My leadership approach is to provide a calm, inclusive and purposeful environment in which high standards of behaviour, attendance and learning are consistently upheld and matched by understanding and respect.  We set ambitious expectations for every student, knowing what young people can accomplish when challenged to excel.

Strong partnerships with families are central to student success.  We are committed to open, professional and constructive communication with parents and carers. We look forward to working closely with you so that every child is supported both in school and at home.
